What types of companies can I form in Qatar?

Qatar offers several legal forms, including limited liability companies (LLCs), partnerships and shareholding companies. Foreign company branches and representative offices follow separate rules. The right structure depends on your activity, ownership, operating model and approvals.

There is no single fixed timeline for every company setup. Timing depends on the legal form, business activity, ownership structure, document readiness and whether external approvals are required.
MOCI states that there is no minimum capital requirement for a limited liability company (LLC). Capital requirements can differ for other legal forms or regulated activities, so the company type and activity should be checked before incorporation.
A Qatari partner is not required in every case. Under Qatar’s foreign investment framework, non-Qatari investors may own up to 100% in permitted sectors, subject to the activity and applicable approvals. Restricted sectors and activity-specific conditions still need to be checked.
The document list depends on the legal form, ownership and activity. Common requirements can include founders’ identification, incorporation documents, authorized-signatory details and activity-specific approvals. Foreign documents may require attestation and Arabic translation depending on the application.
